gists.sh is a free, open-source tool that renders GitHub Gists with clean formatting. By using gists.sh, you agree to these terms.

What gists.sh is

gists.sh is a viewer. It fetches publicly available gist content from the GitHub API and displays it. It does not host, store, or modify gist content.

Content

All gist content displayed on gists.sh belongs to its respective authors on GitHub. gists.sh is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of any gist content. If you have concerns about specific content, please contact the gist author directly or report it to GitHub.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service. Specifically:

  • Don't attempt to scrape or crawl gists.sh at scale
  • Don't use gists.sh to circumvent GitHub's own rate limits or terms of service
  • Don't use internal API endpoints (such as /api/raw/) directly. They exist for the site's own functionality and are not intended as a public API. They may change or be restricted without notice.

Availability

gists.sh is provided as-is, with no guarantees of uptime or availability. The service may be modified, interrupted, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

gists.sh is a free tool. It is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. In no event shall the maintainers be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the service.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of gists.sh after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

gists.sh is open source under the MIT License. The source code is available on GitHub.
